With the ‘Gem of Eternity’ at the St Martin’s in Linz has given rise to a unique form of form of urn burial with a memorial gemstone. Covering an area of approximately 2,000 m² , this special place of remembrance combines nature, tranquillity and a dignified final resting place. Following the creation of a personalised ruby or sapphire from the ashes , the remaining remaining ashes be interred in one of the urn graves, if desired. For MEVISTO customers, the cost of the burial plot is covered for the first ten years.

In collaboration with Linz AG, a space has been created that brings the cycle of life to life. An artistic gemstone sculpture forms the centrepiece, surrounded by a species-rich wildflower meadow and the circularly arranged urn graves. A funeral service is available to everyone in collaboration with Linz AG. The cemetery is freely accessible round the clock.

the costs for our customers

Together with Linz AG, we cover the costs of the grave lease for 10 years, as well as grave maintenance. The prominent site in St. Martin near Linz stands out visually from the other sites, thanks to the wildflower meadow, the bees and the circular arrangement of the graves around the large gemstone. A special atmosphere surrounds this place of power.  

It depens on the country. In Upper Austria, the removal of a small amount of cremation ashes for the creation of a memorial keepsake is legally permitted.

In some regions of Germany, funeral laws are more restrictive, which can sometimes lead to concerns among funeral directors and bereaved families regarding the removal of ashes.

If the ashes are removed in Upper Austria and the remaining ashes are interred at the "Stone of Eternity" memorial site, the legal burial requirement is fulfilled under the applicable regulations. The burial plot for the first ten years is provided by MEVISTO in cooperation with Linz AG. After this period, the plot can either be renewed or respectfully relinquished.

This creates a dignified, maintenance-free, and affordable resting place, while also allowing families to preserve a lasting personal keepsake.

Only 50 g of cremation ashes are required to create a personalized gemstone. The remaining ashes can be laid to rest according to your personal wishes.

For families who prefer an alternative to a traditional burial, MEVISTO offers a burial package. We cover the cost of the burial plot for 10 years, fulfilling the legal burial requirement while providing a maintenance-free urn grave at no cost during that period.

The "Gem of Eternity" memorial site was intentionally designed as a bright, peaceful place close to nature. At its heart stands a large gemstone sculpture surrounded by a beautiful wildflower meadow, creating a unique setting for the urn graves.

The interment itself can be carried out by any funeral home, while the arrangements are coordinated with the Linz AG Cemetery in St. Martin.

Yes. The Stone of Eternity, located at St. Martin Cemetery near Linz in Upper Austria, is open to the public. Family members, friends, and visitors are welcome to visit the memorial site and pay their respects at any time during the cemetery's opening hours.

Yes. In both Austria and Germany, the remaining cremation ashes are generally subject to the applicable burial laws. However, there are many ways to personalize the funeral or memorial service according to the wishes of the family.

For those who prefer a maintenance-free urn grave, the Gem of Eternity memorial site at St. Martin Cemetery near Linz offers a beautiful and dignified alternative. It combines a peaceful resting place with the opportunity to keep a personalized memorial gemstone close for generations to come.


After the cremation of an adult, there are typically 2 to 3.5 kilograms (4.4 to 7.7 pounds) of cremation ashes remaining. To create personalized gemstones with a combined weight of up to 12 carats, MEVISTO requires only 50 grams (about 1.8 ounces) of those ashes.

Not at this time. An entire urn contains far more extractable elements than can currently be incorporated into gemstones. At present, only a small amount of cremation ashes is needed to create personalized sapphires or rubies.

However, we are continuously investing in research and development to explore new possibilities for utilizing a greater proportion of the available elements in the future.

When you purchase a personalized MEVISTO gemstone, the burial plot at the "Gem of Eternity" is provided free of charge for the first 10 years. The burial plot fees are covered by MEVISTO in cooperation with Linz AG.

At the end of the 10-year period, we will contact the family to discuss whether they would like to renew the burial plot or allow it to be respectfully concluded.
